They are decent headphones. I like everything about them, but the audio quality is not that great. There is absolutley no bass at all when the noise cancelation is switched off, but when switched on there is some bass and it's pretty ballenced with the trebble. They are powered by a single AAA battery which is nice and the battery life of the NC is long lasting.

This product is OK, but the plastic headband connections to the earphones are the weakest links, as a previous product I owned (identical to this) broke at each connector, and they are non-repairable and non-replaceable. In other words, the headphone set is very fragile and requires careful handling and storage. The sound quality is acceptable, and the noise cancelling feature also permits a more treble range to be heard, especially when listening to music.

I your are used to the new $300 Bose noise-cancelling headphone, this is not for you. But for my price range this is exactly what I wanted. It cuts back on (rather than cuts out) white noise to make for easier listening. It especially helps when I am listening to audio books. They are comfortable at first, after hours though they can get a bit uncomfortable, nothing unexpected. I use rechargeable batteries for the noise cancelling. The life span is too short for me to want to have to buy new batteries each time they go. I think these headphones were a good buy. I use them a lot and I would buy this model again.

I bought it because earbuds are broken too easily and these are pretty cheap. It's refurbished so it's essentially brand new. The noise cancellation switch doesn't do anything. They do provide decent sound, however, and are much more affordable than Bose headphones.
I bought a couple headphones at a second hand store a while back. Panasonic and a JVC. They do not have noise cancel. But their sound quality is quite a bit better than these. The Panasonic have volume control as well. Paid 2 bucks for the pair :) These Sony phones are ok. compared to other prices. People pay big bucks to go deaf LOL. And the past years of car stereos and loud rock shows. Lower volume is best for me. Save what is left of my hearing :) Anytime I buy headphones I am always critical at first until I get used to 'em....These are good!! Decent price too...Amazon currently has them listed at 140 bucks LOL.....
