I have been an automotive technician for 12+ years and I have always hated the steps with wiring fixes previously involving all kinds of steps and things like a wire crimper tool a torch, heat shrink, tape, and connectors.sometimes even going as far as having to solder things depending on the situation. Well needless to say I have always been on the lookout for a better way to do things and I saw these used on a few articles and build videos I have seen and i figured heck for the price (less then a crimper tool alone) let's give them a whirl i cant go wrong. Right away i had a big job to try them out on and i was just blown away with how well they work. The whole thing is 1 big heat shrink and it has a hollow low temp solder bead and 2 shrink wrap like o rings on either side to grab the wire casings. Now I swear they do not even need the 2 o rings but it is just beyond insurance to how well they work and will last because you can watch the solder inside the shrink coat both wires flawlessly then the whole thing just sucks against the wire coating visually where you can watch it fully seal. Then theres the 2 orings in there it just creates the most absolute amazing connectors with just a household lighter and the connector. There is not guesswork with if it's got a good connection because you can see it the entire time. I cant stress enough if you do *anykind* of wiring that needs to last this is the connectors to use. I now use this over literal soldering because it's just such an efficient and convenient product in every way. Love them.Read full review

By the time the solder melts the plastic cover is already melted away which ruins the insulation of the connection. I use a automotive heat gun and have tried several of these with all of them failing. Do not waste your time with these. I continue to used the crimp type with heat shrink material on it which creates a tight seal.

Although it's good at shrinking and sealing the solder is nothing of the sort, does not melt and flow like it's intended nor does it bond like a regular solder connection. haven't tried to add a dab of Flux yet but currently not impressed with this one step permanent connection product. Will update if proper method is learned.

Not a bad way a make a butt splice. Seems like solder melts just barely before the shrink tube or wire is damaged so you have to be careful. Also make sure you don't shrink both ends before solder flows or the center will balloon and pop ruining it.

Its smaller than it looks. The actual case of connectors isnt much larger than a dollar bill. But it does include the amount that the ad says, so overall not bad. The connectors do work as intended!
