In this game, Snoopy the dog is in flight, destined to find and destroy the Red Baron, and his biplane is ... a doghouse. Yeah. This game doesn't really take itself very seriously, does it? But as silly as the game may be, the gameplay really delivers. Unlike many side-scrolling shooters, this game features one-to-one combat, focusing as much on strategy as it does on action. Usually, if there's suddenly a game based on a long-existing franchise like Peanuts, you should steer clear of it. But "Snoopy and the Red Baron" is no such game; its tight controls and competent presentation make it a solid, exciting game that's just as tense, fast, and furious as you should expect. It's easy to pick up and play, with or without the instructions. The speed of the game increases as you get to higher levels, increasing the tension and urgency in the gameplay. Unfortunately, the game's difficulty only increases for so long; if you last long enough, the game just stops getting harder, and you find yourself just going on forever, with nothing new for the game to unveil. For a kid's game, I suppose that's to be expected. But couldn't they allow you an option to select the game at a higher difficulty? Even with these shortcomings though, this is a game I'll play again and again. Thumbs up!Read full review
