I particularly liked the book because it was well rounded. It wasn't solely about cooking one particular kind of meat like pork or beef, as a lot of books of the genre focus on. This book had recipes from everything from vegetables to salmon to mopping sauce recipes. It is clear on its explanations on how and why they recommend doing things, as has blurbs throughout about regional differences from favored smoking wood chips and how to do things in different areas. This book is one of the finest books on cooking by smoker that I have read. I've smoked meats for years, and even I learned a few tricks by reading it. I recommend it for beginners as well as seasoned smokers.
