Fairly stable, but my camera is almost at maximum weight alloweed/ Could support a little more weight The last stand I had, same model, the plastic handle broke off that raises main stem up and down Maybe they should make it out of metal

I had an slik f630 and was so happy with it bought this u9000 for a friends birthday. The u9000 is heavier and felt stronger then the f630. I still like the f630 more because because it holds a SLR just fine, cost less, and the plate you screw onto the camera can be screwed on with your fingers, while the u9000 you need a flat head screwdriver or at least a quarter. Overall unless you need spiked feet and/or want a heavier tripod to combat winds and heavy full size SLR get a f630
Fantastic value....easy to store...very sturdy construction. Highly Recommended!

It really was a new item that holds my DSLR very well. SLIK has always represented good value in tripods.
