Wilco's my favorite band of the times so this review is skewed. This album is pastoral, melancholic but still includes writings that rock out...a good mixture. it is welcoming by some after the brilliant but unorthodox renderings of ...Foxtrot and Ghost. The DVD gives the viewer a fly on the wall look watching the band rehearse the same songs making up the CD. It's from their "Loft" in Chicago. And now they record, mix, produce and master their CDs here in the same spot. An album that is mostly comforting, like a bowl of mashed potatoes and gravy, in a time where society is often uncertain and afraid.

I wanted to buy this cd for the dvd included with it that wasn't included when purchased through iTunes... I bought it right at the end of auction and had to pay higher than originally anticipated but I'm not upset at all on my purchase.
