These headphone replace my Shure SRH940s for mixing and late night listening (I’m far enough away that the leakage doesn’t bother housemates). The 940s are great for tracking but the 1840s are much more accurate and detailed and the low end much more extended for evaluating mixes. I like these much more than Sennheiser HD600s which I used for several years. The only slight complaint is that the cables are a hardened plastic material that is hypersensitive to touch and transfers the sound to the earcups, but in practice this hasn’t been a problem because I’m not moving around when listening. The price of these headphones is actually quite reasonable considering the excellent quality. I’ve only had them a few weeks though, so I can’t speak to their durability, however positive past experience with the Shure’s generous repair/replacement policy inspires confidence that if they break the company will take care of it satisfactorily. These headphones do nothing wrong. I consider them to be perfect-sounding in the sense that everything is just right. That makes them seem a bit boring to my brain compared to my other rowdier, less refined headphones. I'd like them to have more bass thump, but other than that, they sound amazing. I record with them and they sound exact. They remind me of great paper cone studio monitors. That's how good they sound to my ears. Pushed with an iPhone 8 Plus, they're great, but with my headphone amps, they come alive. To my ears, paired with my Denon DA-300USB, they sound their best. It doesn't have a very powerful headphone amp, but the DAC is great and the combination makes these babies sing. Everything sounds so real and alive. They don't sound thin or distant, but very full and complete. Every sound seems to come from outside the head in a semi-circular field. If you want a refined sound that works with just about any genre of music, I highly recommend these. God bless!Read full review

These headphones are relatively flat and perfect for mixing the low end when you don't have large studio monitors. Depth of field is also great.

I feel like I was not fully enjoying music before listening to these headphones. Trying this headphone changed my enjoyment of music. I get goosebumps when listening to the breath of singers. The cans are so musical and comfy.
