First the pros...small size..clip on back makes it easy to fasten to whatever to keep it in place....simple to use...instructions are online and pretty intuitive...no rocket science here. Sound quality is good...it has numerous EQ settings like "rock" and "pop" and so on as well as custom which is a 5 bar graphic equalizer so if you know your way around one of those you are good. Battery life is good too...I can't tell you how long exactly it will go on a charge but I have had it on my bike riding all day and still had have battery left so good there. Now for the cons...which for me is only one so I guess that's not too bad....the internal memory is 8gb and it can support a mini SD card up to 8 GB as well....the problem is that in shuffle mode it will only access one or the other...internal OR external....not from both. I had a another Sandisk MP3 player before...a Clip + that could access both memories in shuffle mode simultaneously...a feature I miss. Not a deal breaker but an issue none the less.Read full review

It is small, light and has good sound and is good with music and play options. Less so with audiobooks which I found hard to load and find. Previous versions of SanDisk worked better. In some cases it changed the sequence of the files which doesn' t work so well with a book. I checked the sequence on the computer and it was fine. The same book loaded on my older SanDisk worked fine. Also, it seems to work better with my Mac than the PC where for some reason when using drag and drop I got multitude of "unable to locate file" messages. The same list of tunes in mp3 transferred with drag and drop worked fine. So, good for music not so great for audiobooks. Since I bought it for books I'm outta luck.

It is OK all around player for daily use. Definitely less robust buttons on front panel compare to older Sansa Clip+. At arrival had corrupted file-system on internal storage which manifested as read-only file-system when plugged in PC usb. To fix the issue reformat by select Format under menu "Settings". It came with firmware v1.17 (latest at Jan 2016 v1.27) which hangs few times. The firmware is easy to upgrade, just follow official instructions at sandisk website. Sound quality is OK.

I bought this to take to the gym and while out on walks. It looks small but has a ton of features. Expandable memory allows you to increase what I consider to already have more capacity than I'll use. Sound is good, and the battery seems to last forever. Great choice for a straight forward mp3 player.

The MP3 player is nice and compact. The battery life is exceptional. The only draw back is making sure all files loaded are in MP3 format and if you load a book it is chapter sequence. It tends to load and play in shuffle mode and it is not real easy to change. Some books take a long time to load also. The radio reception is a little faint in buildings also.
