Before getting into specific likes and dislikes I have a common peeve with almost all wi-fi devices: Manufacturers refuse to provide a printed user manual. Instead users have to rely on built-in Help or be near a computer for access to getting detailed instructions. There appears to be no printed manual for this device available from a book-seller. Once the device boots-up, and the initial screen is swiped a box appears providing a choice of two ways to launch: TouchWiz home, or CM Launcher. I tried both methods, yet still I don't know what the difference is in the two launch methods and I can find nothing in the Help folder that clarifies this. Sometimes after launching, the Home Page opens in a portrait mode, other times, in landscape. When in initial portrait mode, I have to shut down the device and then re-launch in the hopes that start-up will be in landscape. I don't know how to make sure that the device launches in my preferred mode, ALWAYS. The first pleasant surprise is the beautiful screen, both bright and sharp--as good or better than any one I've seen before. Even when set at its brightest, battery life is, for me more than adequate. The Note 10.1 has ample RAM, providing speedy and glitch-free performance. Unlike Apple tablets, the unit accepts SD micro cards for expanded capacity up to 128 GB. It's even possible to install some apps to the micro card, allowing greater room for the 32GB internal memory. The unit is nicely finished and well-constructed and handles well. The built-in dual cameras (front and rear) deliver decent photography, although shooting with any tablet is far more awkward than with the use of an actual digital camera. The Play Store, while it isn't as extensive as that of available to Apple users, has nonetheless a huge selection and variety of apps, many of which are free and without popup ads. As a digital artist I appreciate the inclusion of the S-Pen, which though a bit more difficult to master than a similar device used with regular computers, still is an added feature that allows for precise drawing, painting, and for use as a pointer when typing. Overall this tablet offers a myriad of features, available apps, and is a great value for the money.Read full review

Bought this for my wife; it is a great tablet for around 200 dollars (early 2016). If you have the money and want a slightly larger and more feature-rich tablet, look at this one's big brother the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. But my wife prefers this size, so that's what we got her.... Plusses: Very powerful oct core processor and beautiful screen! Add a keyboard (I recommend the Logitech keyboard for the Tab 4 10.1, not a perfect fit but as close as you can get); that turns this lil' thing into a laptop / tablet combo! Has a micro-sd slot that can take up to 64g according to specs but perhaps much more. Minuses: This stuff is minor, but annoying. Power plug is only a usb2 and at the bottom of the screen, which means ya can't easily use it w/ a keyboard while it is charging. Power cord is too short. Final comment: GREAT tablet for those wanting a 10 inch experience w/ Android. Reading books, using the Mysword Bible program, watching videos... turns Android from being "just for phones" into a full-blown productivity experience.Read full review

The item is in mint condition. It charged easily; has long battery life. The screen is in excellent condition with hot spot/burn spots. The stylus looks as if it was never used. This was an exceptional purchase for me.

I bought this mostly as a way of avoiding using my desktop computer (as much as possible). I wanted something where I can browse the internet, check out Facebook or YouTube and check my emails while I'm watching TV, rather than having to go to a different room and boot up my desktop PC. It works really well for this, plus, since it wirelessly connects to my TV, I can find YouTube videos on the tablet, then flip them over to the TV. Since my printer is setup on my wireless network, I can print directly from the tablet. All the wireless connections were very simple to make. All in all I'm happy with this purchase and, if I had it to do over again, wouldn't change a thing.

I recently upgraded from the 2012 Note 10.1 and I'm glad I did. The 2014 edition Note 10.1 is much thinner, lighter, and less surface area (a decrease in the bezel size) than its predecessor. I'm able to hold for longer periods with only one hand, which is something I couldn't do with the 2012 edition. I usually charge it every other day and that's only because I don't like the battery life on any of my devices to drop below 40%. The battery life will drain faster the more you are using the tablet, but not significantly. The screen is crystal clear even though I'm a using a matte screen protector, which can make some devices appear duller than they really are. It was money well spent on this tablet.
