I have had my phone for several days and I am really liking it so far. It is very easy to use, the screen is beautiful, and the phone has a tremendous amount of functionality built in as well as available through the Android Market. My dislikes of the phone are relatively minor - 1. The battery life is not great. I need to do some research on what others are doing to increase battery life. I also think the next version release of the operating system is going to address power usage. 2. I wish the phone would notify you of a missed text/call when it is dormant. My old phone, if you missed the audible incoming call/text notification, it would have one of the buttons glow (while the screen was blank/off) to let you know you missed something. 3. The screen is beautiful but tends to get washed out in bright light. 4. There is a bit of lag when typing - more so when using the virtual keyboard So far, I have zero regrets in buying it and would buy another. When my wife breaks her current Palm Pre, I'm going to steer her towards the Moment.Read full review
This phone was so-so with Android OS 1.5, but after the update in April, things got a lot better... It was more responsive, the bug with "Roaming mode" was fixed, it added Google Navigation, Google Voice Search, and the zoom option for the Camera. it has a very responsive AMOLED touchscreen, which was easier to see at different angles. Bluetooth connectivity also was more stable after the 2.1 update. Lost one star because the battery life on it is not the greatest, but it is a solid phone both physically and systemwise. You can navigate 3 different ways, via touchscreen, optical track-pad, or using the keyboard arrows. Connects to WiFi perfectly, and comes Built-In with Moxier which is a MS Exchange connecting utility, which makes this great for dual-purpose personal/work device. As far as Spring goes, it has the fastest Processor second only to the EVO, and possibly the Nexus One if Sprint gets that.Read full review
Well I am coming from an HTC Hero. I liked the Hero very much, but a couple things prompted me to get another phone. One of those being the use of a physical keyboard. Now the virtual KB may be usable for others, maybe one with the fingers of a 9yr old girl. That being said, the use of it was more often then not, frustrating. My other qualm was the speed or there lack of. The Hero seemed less like its' name and more like a normal person in comparison, if that's possible? Going between apps., dialing even down to setting the alarm were sometimes patience yielding experience. Though I could be biased as I am a very impatient individual. Other then those minor details the phone is awesome! So I recently purchased The Samsung Moment in hopes of aliveating my dissapointments of previous phone. After recieving the Moment, I had a "Moment" of relief when sliding open that full QWERTY PHYSICAL keyboard. All its glory can only be felt by one. On top of this intitial joy, I came to realise that I could navigate and run apps, such as the dialer, with ease. Very responsive. Being a Google based phone navigation was familiar, being that I came from a Google phone. Though a few things are not offered as such on the HTC Hero, such as being able to choose different styles for widgets and having the five different home pages to scroll between. Moment has only three home pages to scroll between. And the Moment is fairly bulky when compared to the Hero. It lascks any sort of "glitz" and "glamour". But lets be honest, who buys a phone as a fashion accesory? That being said I think most phones when pitted against the almighty iPhone are going to come in at a less then average rating. Of course my opinion is subjective. With all that being said. I find the Samsung Moment to be a good phone with nice features.Read full review
I like this phone... seriously!! My old Blackberry was a replacement for the one I had before it; both of them got old and developed problems, so I bought this one as an interim phone until I can qualify for a new "cheaper" phone on my account. There are just a few negatives that I would like to point out. 1/ It's heavier than my old Blackberry. 2/ The touchscreen interface is slow to respond when mid-call; you have to wait for the screen to light up, then drag the dialpad up [taking care not to blank the phone again], then proceed from there - I usually have to put it on "speaker" to avoid blanking the screen over and over. 3/ Even though the screen dims during use, it's still possible to face-dial different buttons including "mute" and "speaker". 4/ The touchscreen is annoying when using Facebook; it either won't respond, or responds too well. 5/ There is no speed dial, only a "favorites" list. Overall I do adore this phone. It has all the features I want, gets good signal, and has clear sound. I haven't been able to get the TV to work yet [probably need to upgrade the software since I bought it used] but everything else is great. For touchscreen and weight I prefer the Palm Pixi [it's MUCH lighter!]. For non-touchscreen functions I prefer the Blackberry. For everything in one package, this does a great job!Read full review
the phone was in excellent outstanding condition when i got it. and i was so excited. i bought this phone because i wanted a new one and i used to have this phone and i missed it so after i got rid of the htc hero i was back to a fast moving touch screen phone. The thing that i like about the phone is that its touch screen and has a qwerty keyboard where i can type faster. What i dont like about it is that it dont have t9 words for the touch screen part and that some of the features are plain looking and not fancy looking untill i put themes on it and that its not a 3g or 4g network phone. if there's a possible chance i would recommend that others should get it but if i was to get another phone i would try a diiferent one that just came out. because this phone is off the market so sprint can't really do much with it unless its customer service problems.Read full review
