Plenty of power it cut off small unwanted shrubs using trimmer line without bogging down or stalling the hedge trimmer attament works great it trimmed thick bushes with no problems the nicest thing about the 4cycle engine is that it has a lot more power than a similar sized 2 cycle and is much quieter.

external oil vent line came broken I did not know this .The instructions said you will get some external oil leakage from shiping dont worry. so after 1 hour of running and I checked the oil stick the oil should good but it all pumped out during use and the engine froze up.I am not happy and I had problems with the auto string feed. I do believe this unit is a good unit its unfortunate that this happened caught me by surprise. the oil vent line tube is in a bad spot so the tube is bent to clear the gas tank., bad design ,Guys check this when you fire your unit up you might end up with a frozen piston

A bit pricier then the old oil/gas machines but totally worth it. One pull starts, no smoking, and serious power. Even has a throaty growl from the exhaust for you gearheads. One thing you do have to remember, this thing has a crankcase, which holds the oil. If you turn your machine sideways like to do edging, you will get smoking and can possibly damage the engine from oil starvation. Don't do it! Use the right tool for the right job.

I have owned 4 Troybilt weed eaters and they have lost their credibility with me ... the pull ropes are in the back of the machine which makes it more difficult for me to start ... the rope mechanism gets tangled and can not be repaired by me .. I have had to replace them twice ... Now the rings in the engine are burned and the machine smokes and burns oil quickly ... Troybilt I had was very difficult to start and keep running ... Ryobi must be very popular as I can't purchase one within a hundred miles of where I live and I live in Houston, Texas ... as soon as Home Depot would receive some ... they were gone before I could get there ... so I bought one through E-Bay ... I love it .... great machine and it uses my Troybilt edger, blower and curved weed eater ... and the price was cheaper than Home Depot ... I bought my son one last year and he loves it ...Read full review
