These work great for just about any seeds that you want to start. Just remember not to over water after 1st transplanting because the cube acts like a sponge and will retain water longer than the surrounding dirt.

This particular seed starter application is like an artificial sponge which holds EXCESSIVE amounts of water. Using these cubes and a heating pad, germination was fairly quick. Growth appeared to be coming along OK until I moved the young plants into an 8 oz. cup with a really good potting mixture. Then everything went downhill. The problem, I finally realized ,was the spongy cubes continued to hold an excessive amount of water even though the surrounding potting mixture indicated an application of water was appropriate. As a result, roots started to rot. I pulled plants that were dying and realized the problem was the excessive water being held in the spongy cubes. This was my first experience with these cubes and my last. Back to filling my germination trays with good ole potting mix.Read full review
