Works when you get it paired to your stick. Using the instructions that came with the new remote did not work as it was for a Fire TV. Getting help on the Internet does allow you to try other ways to pair your remote. When the Amazon stick displays on your TV and the new remote still does not work, I read that using the remote that came with your TV may allow you to get the stick into settings mode. Try using the arrows and select buttons on your TV remote and once you are in settings, you can use it to get the new remote paired and working. It worked for me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works perfect the only issue I had was getting it to program to my fire stick following the directions. I did only try twice. I already had the firestick app on my phone as thats what i been using since my 3yo decided to dunk my remote in my soda. So i was able to pair using the app with no issues at all. Works perfectly and i had the alexa remote but never use that feature. I think i will be ordering another one or two soon just to make sure i have a back up one or two as i do have two firesticks just in case i do have two toddlers. Fire Stick up and running again!
My husband and I moved (so new WiFi) and lost the fire stick remote in the process. The app wouldn’t work because of the new WiFi. We couldn’t use the fire stick the first 6 months in our new home, we thought we’d find the remote. I gave up on that idea and finally bought a replacement. Good product hard to program
The product works great but if you dont uave your original remote or your original remote is non working this item is pretty difficult to get working on your existing fire stick. I could not get it to work with instruction and even going online and watching videos. I eventually had to take my old remote apart (dogs had chewed it up badly) and use it (very difficult and time consuming) to program in this secondary remote. Not bad for a factory second replacement.
Definitely factory seconds or rejects. They seem to work okay so far though. On one of the remotes I bought the navigation buttons at top of remote feel different than the second remote I bought. The second remote has the home and back buttons reversed. Kept pressing the home button to pair and finally realized the buttons were installed wrong. Fire stick only (NOT FIRE TV)
I got this to replace the remote I lost from my Fire TV and discovered unfortunately it would only work for the fire stick he did put this in the description so make sure you read carefully! Fortunately I had a remote for the fire stick upstairs so I just use this one to replace the fire stick upstairs and the fire stick Alexa remote for the fire TV downstairs.
