Gear cart is tough and well built, probobly the second best constructed out of the set next to the small case but all together it is a quality built piece of good old fashion american craftsmanship from North Ridgeville, Ohio. it is solid and water proof with a gasket around the removable lid while it is the only component of the set that has such a lid its locking latches are on the side so it is attached very securely. I am 328 lbs and i can stand on it upright without any complaint or damage to the case. HOWEVER! be aware. - Dimensions - while most of the "RIGID" tool box set are 22.5" long x 13.5" wide the gear cart is 22.5" long x 18" wide from front to back, it is LARGER than the other cases in the set, not just because the internal dimensions are greater but also because the tires in the back bumps out from the rear of the case. - Tires - while the tires on the gear cart are MORE than adequate for the purposes of the cart, if you are really rough on the cart or really filling the full set with heavy stuff you ARE going to break the tires, they are made of stiffer plastic and that means more brittle, the tread is also hard and not very grippy. after some time you may wish to purchase a set $18-$24 wagon replacement pneumatic tires with steel rims.Read full review

Before buying this tool system I was carrying my tools in various tool cases, bags, and buckets. For one thing, that was a lot of weight to carry. Now I wheel the weight. BTW, I also have the top case and the middle is the open top basket. I can fit all my power tools and hand tools needed for most jobs in this one system. The interlocking latches work well and the carry handles are nice. My one big complaint with the top box is that the lid has a bunch of empty space that is un-usable. I assume they did this to make a more sturdy lid that you can stand on. I am not sure but this bugs me. If I could ask for any changes, I wish the boxes could have been made lighter weight. Lifting onto truck each day gets tough. That said, the boxes seem to be tough and will last a long time.

Rugged and maneuverable, this set make getting my tools where they are need a snap. The bottom piece has the wheels and collapsible handle. the other two fit snug and are clamped. They separate in seconds when you need them. Bulky power tools in the bottom, hand tools in the middle, and frequently used things like screws, fittings, whatever go in the top. Brilliant!

Please READ my question carefully. How much weight(COMBINED WITH other Ridgid Pro boxes will this SAFELY transport ( ie: total weight carrying ability) - NOT what just the base cart/box itself alone will handle. Ex: If I have 2 or 3 other Pro boxes properly clamped to the cart --> what is the TOTAL handling capability?? IF this info. is in the FAQ, Q & A section, HD website or the Ridgid forum, IT IS HIDDEN VERY WELL! [ All I have seen are "opinions", "what I do is", "my neighbor or buddy does this & such", "my dog did this", "you should try" “ I prefer blah, blah, blah …” and other such USELESS tripe spewed forth by “people” that have MUCH, MUCH more time than WISDOM and just LOVE to "chime in" on every topic AND to every inquiry - whether they have any actual KNOWLEGDE or not( I remember when GOOD SENSE used to be called "common" -- not anymore. ]! I would like a proper response. Thank you in advance for NOT giving me a VAGUE answer.Read full review
