QYT KT-8900 Transceiver Mobile Radio is a great starter radio if you are interested in GMRS or HAM communications. I purchased 2 of these and both were better than i expected. Rating this radio very highly it performs very well. A great value and very high quality radio. I purchased 2 for the licensed GMRS bands. After i purchased these i found out these can also scan channels just like a scanner and even work on marine bands and ham bands. Clear loud sounding radios. Has fm radio band also. For the price you can not go wrong. Had no problem reaching a repeater 30 miles away with an indoor antenna. An easy five stars here.
