...sadly. Nevertheless, interesting, educating and thought provoking material, still, after decades.

Dawkins is a great writer, but this book is simply too much for the non-professional. It says right in its preface that the book is not meant for a general audience, and it isn't. Also, many of the themes and points made in this book are reiterated in his later books, in easier to read fashion. There are, of course, some fascinating points made, and large sections are quite readable even to the dilettante, but, even so, this was the one book by him that I did not enjoy reading.
It came the way it was presented and I'm satisfied with the contents.

Easy to read and understand. Helps if you read Dawkins book "The Selfish Gene" first. I purchased this book because a family member suggested I get both of Dawkin's books and read them in order. We had been discussing what makes people the way they are. Very interesting read.
