I thought a lot about whether I should go for a powered desktop speakers or amplifier and speaker set? if it's an amplifier should it be a new generation, Chinese made full-of-featured no-name amplifier or a brand like Pioneer who proved themselves for decades to consumers. I think I've made the right choice. Sound quality is amazing, try it with flac or CD or similar no-loss audio files. Bass is satisfactory but if you're not happy with it you can always add a powered sub-woofer, 100W, 200W or 400W whatever. One final note, some complain about the level of the knob not producing enough power even at 30 or 40. That's how good quality amplifiers behave! Their volume is not like a parabola but like a linear line, with every turn, you get a slightly more volume. Besides, please do not expect to get a $4000 worth of amplifier by paying $120.Read full review

Bought and connected to a new pair of Yamaha NS-6490 bookshelf speakers. Sounds terrible!! Very tinny. Sounds worse than the 20 year old boom box I was replacing. Used an old JVC RX-333, from the 80's, to make sure it wasn't the speakers, and it sounded better. Junk!!! I am now looking for an amplifier and just use it as a turner.

I researched a ton and I'm very happy with this receiver. Zero noise, great Bluetooth pairing, all the power you'll need and a sub out. Wish it had a phono out but I knew that when I bought it. Value for the $$ is incredible. Matched it with the Pioneer fs-22 speakers and together they are perfect at bargain pricing.

very nice looking, easy to operate. Sound Quality is very good for an economy receiver. Bluetooth feature paired up with my phone with no issues.the fact you can hook up a powered subwoofer to this receiver really adds to it's value. I hooked up a 10'' sub to this with 4 bookshelf speakers. The sound was great! If you are looking for a old school type stereo with a couple of modern features thrown in, You might want to give this a look.

The Good: Paid $128, open box. Well build, very handsome looking amp. BT good quality, good quality receiver. Nice remote. Sound quality expected at the price point. Clean, tight bass, bright but bearable highs, decent stereo stage. The Bad: Almost no sound until volume turn past the half way. Would be nice to have HDMI pass-thru, or some digital input. Not recommended as a main stereo due to low power output and lack of video in/out operation, but perfect as a secondary system. Make sure is that what you looking for.
