After a very fast delivery I received a well packed toolpost with an assortment of toolholers. The toolpost is well machined and fits well. The assortment of toolholders provides a wide range of capability. In this case, the toolpost has been fitted to a Southbend 10K lathe. The operations performed using this toolpost have benefitted from an increase in rigidity. Tool changes have also been made quicker and more consistent. So far, the improvements have resulted in particular improvements in threading operations and surface finish. I have yet to identify an operation that this toolpost impacts negatively. My experience has been very positive.

For the money this is a good buy. I've only just begun to use it on a small lathe I recently purchased. No issues to speak of as yet. The blank for the key way on the cross slide needs to be longer. If I was to use what they supplied the clamping force would be half of what the cross slide is designed for. With that being said, you're going to need, or have access to a mill to complete the install. Like I said it's a good value if you're trying to save a buck.

I viewed a YouTube video where a guy converted his vintage lathe over using this quick change tool holder set. I have a smaller Logan 200 and converted from the lantern style tool holder just like he did. You have to machine one part to fit the specific machine you have but that went fine. These are much more stable than the old set up and based on my hands on work with them, the quality is very good.

Phase II quick change tool posts are "good enough" quality. My crude description is that they are on the "top of the heap" of Chinese tools. For guys like me that are retired and not likely to wear out a tool post on my little basement lathe, they are perfect. Not too expensive and well enough made that you won't be sorry you bought one. Anybody on a budget will not be disappointed with Phase ll.

After watching u-tube reviews I decided on the Phase II tool post set. The price for the set was excellent. Quality of the unit looks & feels good. I mounted it on a Emco Maximat V10. I machined the included block to the shape of the existing lantern bolt and the tool post fit right on. For around $200 this set is a very good value.
