Love the light weight of the reel. Added carbon fiber keeps it light along with the aluminum milled out of places like the handle. Strong bail wire and smooth engagement. I like the soft foam handle vs the rubber ones they normally use. At first I didn't think I would like that but after using it I wish all my penn reels had them. Sealed well from salt water use. Smooth drag system. Strong aluminum body, no plastic parts here. Over all a well balanced unit.

I bought this reel for a medium/light action rod (more on the light side). It's a smooth, balanced, and quiet reel. I have braid line on it now and get very good distance with small jigs and rooster tails. Tough enough for sea trout and a nice compact size for rainbow trout as well. I plan to buy a larger size for Red Drum!

I loved the first one of these I bought. So I bought three more. I keep two on the boat, and two as spares. I have gotten pretty stubborn about sealed bearings, and so far this reel has lived up to my expectations and more. I use it in salt water. and it has been a very good winter and spring. I have worn the first two out, and I never had a thought about breaking out either of the spares. I live on the water, and use my equipment almost daily. I like this reel better than my Stradics that cost considerably more.

I have had the clash 2500 for two weeks and have caught 30 snook, 10 redfish and a few tarpon not to mention the jacks, catfish, lady fish and the real has performed good. The drag is super smooth and the reel is really light.
