The Peltor 300 is definitely a substantial improvement over prior "non sound canceling" hearing protection and/or ear plugs. I am still trying to get comfortable with the "300" and arrive at the optimum sound settings for my use (shotgun clays). (Have not yet tried the external sound input feature). Fit is very tight and will take some getting used to and perhaps breaking in. The packing was excellent and Instructions are reasonable. Warranty (1 year) info. is not detailed. All said - I am very satisfied.

The workmanship is at a high level. Unfortunately, it cannot prove that the headphones are protected from water - as someone wrote in the reviews. The paint of the battery compartment is not airtight, so I do not recommend sprinkling with water. I would also like to have more sound amplification at maximum volume.

I bought them for me but my wife loves them and I got a Bluetooth set of Walkers for me. I got these much cheaper on eBay than my usual gun store. We spend a lot of time shooting and I’ll be upgrading all my hearing protection with gel inserts from noise fighters. As for these they work great and battery life is sufficient.

Been a Bullseye pistol shooter for 30 years +. This is not the first pair of Peltor hearing protection, but it is the first electronic version of any brand for me. I purchased these because they created a small foot print in my gun box just like my old non-electron Peltor ears. I thought I would try the electronic version for the first time. It is strange to hear plainly at the range. Sound is suppressed by just dropped the slide on the pistol. It was a strange felling. Indoors it suppressed sound to an acceptable level except if the shooter immediately to each side is firing load large caliber full loads. It was distracting. The fix is to shutoff the electronics and use them without audio amplification. I have not tried them outdoors yet but I suspect the issue will be the same. I am using 2 x AA batteries. I am not sure how long they will last before they need to be replaced. I do turn them off after shooting. I usually shoot about two hours at a time. I have about 10 hours on these batteries and they are still OK. $31 for rechargeable batteries can buy a lot of AA batteries. I may look for after market rechargeable later if I can get two pair for around $15. Hearing at the range is highly over rated unless you go there to socialize or have bad hearing or need them to hear the range controls in competition. The Peltors are comfortable to wear. I do not know if the ear pieces are replaceable. It will be nice if they were. I will consider those if the rest of the device holds up and the replacement price is right.Read full review

Comfortable fits well if only I could figure out how to use it.
