Two things make the Pantech Flex for AT&T an extremely interesting Android smartphone. First, with highfalutin specs like Android. 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, the Flex is Pantech's most premium U.S. attempt. Second, rather than waving these specs like a banner, Pantech offers an "easy" mode that's simpler and friendlier for first-timers to use. Parts of Pantech's dual-mode philosophy work better than others, but I appreciate the attempt to embody the spirit of flexibility. The same goes for the Flex's hardware. After so many good and even great midtier phones, it's wonderful to see Pantech aim high, though in a few cases the effort is better than the execution. I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention one of Pantech's other strengths, keeping costs low. AT&T and Pantech have long offered bargain prices for phones that often outperform rivals at the same price point. With the Flex, they largely do it again.Read full review
I was leaving Verizon and wanted to go to Straight talk. I wanted to use a CDMA phone because now you can with Straight Talk but it all seemed complicated to me, so I shifted my focus to best values in unblocked GSM phones. I was originally looking at LG/HTC & Samsung products and this one kind of popped up in there one day on EBAY. I did the research and it seemed this phone had everything i wanted (MicroSD, Great screen quality and size, good reliability, recent Android system,4G,and a lot more) but was 1/3 or less the price of anything else I was looking at comparable and was also in pristine condition (most anything else I saw that i wanted under $200-250 price point was not in excellent condition). So far i am happy and yesterday I bought my next month of unlimited talk text and web for only $45--YEAH!! EAT that Verizon!!! You sucked my blood for far too long. I don't have any previous smart phone experience to compare it to but I really am impressed so far. The text features work spectacularly. Camera is good and easy to use for my purposes. Video is good too. Easy to figure out how to do almost anything you could want. Again I don't know if it is android or the phone working so well but I am very happy with it and no problems after a month. The ONLY thing I have had difficulty with so far is finding the adjustment for notifications other than incoming calls and text such as incoming email. I think that is just me and if i read the maunual I will find it.Read full review
I purchased this phone because I needed a smart phone so I would have email texting and calling capabilities. really like how thin the phone is and how easy it is to use. there is a lot I dislike about this phone. it could be because it was purchased used but I have issues with the battery life (only lasts about 3 hours on standby) with the battery saver on. the touch screen sometimes does not work or you have to press harder then usual. and not to mention the earpiece was broken when I received it. I have to use a Bluetooth or put them on speaker. overall I think this is a nice phone if treated right. the camera is amazing theres little to no blur when taking pictures of people or objects moving. I deff recommend the phone. just don't go through the same people I purchased it from because they refused to fix the earpiece problem when they clearly stated that it was a fully functional phone. and they would not follow the 30 day warranty that was mentioned under item condition.Read full review
i bought this phone on ebay trying to geta good smart phone without paying an arm an a leg.The phone first off is a pretty sharp looking phone. This phone is really easy to use it has two features one simple and one for the tech minded person ,nice large screen thin build and fits in your hand really well. Most people complain about the pictures but i get great pictures and vidos.I gave less than $150.00 for it this is top of the line almost the same as samsung galaxy . ONLY THING IS THAT WHEN YOU WiFi battery uses up fast. All in all i would suggest any one by this phone its well worth it.
If connectivity is what you are looking for, this is the phone for you. I have apps that require good connectivity, I was amazed at how they easily connected and stayed connected for the duration of the operation. Then, the tethering feature is outstanding I used a tethering app found at Google store instead of ATT bloatware configured the phone and now have very fast internet speed on my laptop. This is a phone for people who want to eliminate their home internet and connect to their other technology products on the go.
