Although this shaver works good for me, it isn’t quite as effective as my former Panasonic Model ES3831 which I accidentally dropped and broke. This new one does seem to work better around my neck area and the side of my face but not so well under my nose area. It has a powerful and very quiet motor, and is easy to keep clean. I’m sorry I can’t quite give it 5 stars.

Prices for replacement foil and cutters is so high now that this shaver is a viable alternative. Only downside is that it does not perform as well as the more expensive shavers. For some reason, it does not glide over the face as well. Might work OK on lighter whiskers Also ridiculous that this shaver has no "low battery" indicator.

Gives a pretty good shave. I have a heavy beard and I have to go back and forth a couple of times before my skin is smooth. Comparable to the Braun's which I have used for years. I first came upon Panasonic while traveling in Europe. I left my razor at home I had to buy a new one. The Panasonic shaver was the only one sold there that didn't come with a massive recharging base with cleaning fluid etc.which eliminated its usefulness as a portable unit. That unit lasted over 2 years. This unit seems a bit better built. The charging stand is much smaller. It does not work on 220 volts, though. Curious since so many small appliances run 110/220 these days. And makes it a pain in European/Asian countries most of which run on 220. It has a Nimh battery, not a lithium Ion.

The Panasonic ES-SL41 is a good value at a reasonable price. This is relatively basic shaver that is good at shaving without unnecessary features that would add more cost than value. Most importantly, the shaver is powered by a lithium cell that provides days of shaving, probably enough for a week of shaves without needing a charge. In most cases, you will not need to pack the charging stand unless you take an extended trip. The included charging stand is easy to use. The blades are sharp and the foil is quite thin and strong, so you should get many years of service without needing to replace parts. The balde oscillations are not as rapid as the more expensive Panasonic shavers, but plenty fast for a comfortable close shave. There is a flip-out trimmer for longer facial hair. The shaver body is waterproof, so you can use the shaver with a shaving gel or even use the shaver while taking a shower. I am quite satisfied using the shaver dry, but it is nice to have other choices. The included accessories are the instruction manual, the charging stand, and a clip-on plastic shield to cover the switch and foil while travelling. Read full review

Great electric razor. It's quiet and gives a close and smooth shave. I like that it can be used wet or dry. I use it with shaving gel. It has a pop-up trimmer. I have used other Panasonic razors for over 10 years with additional features such as a digital display, but none gave a better shave. It is also easy to clean.
