I will start by stating that I am very handy and as a hobby fix vintage computers and gaming systems. I am good w/ small parts, soldering, electronics and have all the required tools. Replacing the door on the Sony PSP system is probably the most difficult task I"ve undertaken. I feel that the way that the PSP was manufactured does not allow easy replacement of the door w/o taking apart the entire PSP. The hings simply will not snap into place because of some clearance issues w/ the design. Needless to say I ended up damaging my PSP's screen while trying to replace the door. While putting pressure on the door to get it to snap into place the screen's LCD/digitizer became damaged. I took all precautions and read all I could about how to replace this door. The door itself is nice quality.Read full review

For a while now, my PSP 1001's original UMD door simply could not remain shut very well without having to use Scotch tape to make it happen. This replacement was the solution. Now I don't need to use Scotch tape or hold it in place with my fingers to keep the door shut. I'll be doing business with these guys again sometime, as I still need more parts for my PSP.
