Here's a few things that I really like about the Presto Nomad. 8 quarts is plenty big enough for a large group. The hinged lid is convenient. No need to clear a spot to set the lid down. The condensation drain and collector are a clever feature. Travels well with no worry about tipping over. The dry erase board beats having to tape a label on so that people know what's inside. Simple one knob operation with 3 heat settings. The cord stores inside the unit, so it stays out of the way during travel and storage. Most importantly, it works just like a slow cooker should.

i bought one and used it for a couple of months and loved it so much I bought another one. They are light weight and cook as well as the big heavy ceramic ones. I gave away my big heavy crock pots and this is all I use. I have two of the 6 quart ones but I am going to buy the 8 quart one. It is easy to clean comes apart easily and goes back together easily. The cord goes up in the bottom which is very handy. Even when full of food it is light and easy to carry. The liner can be lifted out and you can serve from it.
