This is a great amp, and I picked it up used as, sorry Orange, but the prices of most Orange gear is just ridiculous. Same can be said for a lot of companies out there but used this is a great amp. I also have the MICRO version (tiny 20 watt mostly solidstate with a 12AX7 preamp tube) and this is obviously much better. I also had a Jim Root Dark terror head and the Tiny Terror. Of those, I prefer the Dark Terror as it has just enough of what I need which is much more on the high gain side. Funny that the Jim Root version did not have the same gain depth as this one, as he is a shredder for sure, but perhaps that one is not really anything more than his "signature" as we know he plays a Rockerverb for real lol... Anyway, great drive and gain saturation on this one, simply 3 knob controls and the 7/15watt power choice actually has 2 different sounds so that is pretty cool. I got the one I have here for $365.00 used, and it is worth every penny at that price point.Read full review

First amp I received was a dud, sent it back and got another. Glad I gave it another try because it sounds great! Plenty of gain, clear sound without the harshness of my DSL. Takes pedals well and has an effects loop. Made in China so that concerns me a bit but time will tell.

Everyone who plays guitar is always seeking one thing....the perfect sound... We spend a lot of time trying different guitars, strings, cables and of course amplfiers. Since I'm one of those seeking the perfect tone. I have spent my share with Vox, Marshall, Peavey, Mesa . I always rolled with at least one 4 x 12 cab . Carting that and a 60 pound Marshall DSL 100 around gets to be a pain ..since the whole goal is to make music. Not shipping and receiving....I started looking at smaller lighter amps and cabs that could deliver "that tone" that I love. Now enters the Orange Dark Terror.....light but sturdy..all tube ( a must have) and reliable. What about the tone? Holy Cow this is it.....gain beyond anything....but rich toneful beautiful gain.... Can I power a 4 x 12 stack....oh yeah....but I get to save my back with a 2x12 Oranhe cab and I look cool at the same time..... My band members are saying..."dude where's the rest of your rig?' I told them this is it man it's all Orange!! I plug in and everybody just stares in submission to the power of ORANGE..... the days of the multi stacks are gone....with a house PA in most clubs you could probably just hook up a floor pedal.....but with this amp I can do 100-200 people gigs and not even turn this baby all the way... So Rock on brothers and sisters with the power of OrangeRead full review
Smaller than what I expected but man this is a monster little amp. Not so many knobs but still very versatile tone wise, you can dial in nice clean sound all the way up to heaven metal stuff. It sounds way better than my DSL40. I dont know why more pro guitar players are not choosing Orange.

This amp has great tube tone, warm and creamy. You can dial in almost any tone you want with the shape control; blues to metal and cut the gain back and bump up the volume for some some nice cleans. If you run pedals through the input take note this amp does not like cheap pedals ie boss, dod, etc ex distortion/overdrives, no problems with nicer pedals. The effects loop does what it should for your delays, chorus etc very well. This is a great tube amp for the price - at 15watts it pushs a 2x12 great or with a 4x12.
