Loves: Lightweight, portable (w/case included too), very nice, bright & clear projection, has all the necessary inputs (hdmi, vga, s-video, USB & rca compsotite. Likes: Good looking projector, nice color, plug and play ease of use right out of the box, included remote w/laser pointer (batteries included), comes with USB, vga & composite cable. Dislikes: Very minor that it heats up pretty high for such a little thing but, it's something that should be expected w/a 2500 lumen lamp bulb that it comes with. I needed a projector for my mobile DJ business to include in my equipment rental packages for weddings etc. and for video mixing purposes in nightclubs & bars. I decided on this model after researching and searching around because of its small size which makes it lightweight and portable. I was also swayed after reading good ratings, reviews and feedback on different forums & store sites across the net.Read full review
I use this for watching TV and movies. Even with lights on it looks great on 16X9 II at about 12 feet. Celiling mounted and 100 X 66 aprox screen. With an HD cable box the HD channels look perfect.... Set your cable box to 4:3 Aspect. At least for mine, at 16X9 the picture on the screen is 4:3 with the projector set at 16X9 II. If I set the cable to 4:3 it goes to 16:9. Im not sure why but try it if yours is like this. My wife said a projector was stupid until i got it done. But now she would rather have this than a plasma (our Zenith broke.) Consider audio complications with a projector
This projector has a very good picture. When producing HD it excels, and coupled with a Blu-Ray player I could not be happier. There are a couple downfalls though. When it is working with a standard definition picture you can see it trying to upscale which kinda defeats the purpose. Also it has no mounting screws so you have to either build your own shelf for it to sit on or buy the $200+ BM-1020N cage mount.(which I plan to purchase soon) The fan is a bit loud and comes on often, but I guess it is better than it frying. This is my second Optoma, I bought this one to replace my aging EP719 and I have been very happy with it so far.
Meet all my espectations, brigth images, potable, quiet fans, great look, just a great product... Highly recomended.
The perfect system for your budget home theater system. Beats the socks out of LCD systems. Easy to set-up, lightweight, outstanding resolution.
