This is a low end receiver not a lot of bells and whistles, the sound quality is EXCELLANT it has all the basic features is easy to use (no menu searching) . If you want a basic unit with just a few things hooked up it's great , has fiber optic input (dolby digital) I had to assign the optical input (no sound unless so) it took a second . It has no A/C plugs on the back no HDMI plugs (basic 5 ch). I have had 6 differant brands of 5 chanell receivers in 15 years ($200-600)this is the first Onkyo anything for me , it looks like Onkyo builds a great low end model I really look forward to owning a upper end AVR for the other room . I read 25 reviews on this model ALL were good , I figure a few were choosen because they were favorable but I went on 4 diff sites . Only 1 weird thing if its unplugged for monthes you have to CLEAR something by holding video 1 & power OR NO SOUND COMES OUT , I had it unplugged for a week and didint have to do that since just did it that one time so I dont know if its mine only,Read full review
This receiver is an excellent buy if you are looking to drive most speakers under 100 watts. Easy to configure and sounds good with little tweaking. Great for the armature listener. I was runing my Bose speakers off these and it sounded superb. Now I am using B&W DM302s on them and it's great! For the price, there really is not much to compare or complain about.
I ordered the same receiver that I had before it stopped working, so it was like reviving my old receiver! The sound is great!
