This is a strange movie. I guess that I never expected to see Robin Williams in a serious role. Sy Parrish (Williams) is one of those people who obviously has no family or even a life of his own. He works as a film processor in a large Sav-Mart store (like a Walmart). He escapes reality by living his fantasy through the lives of his customers. His admiration of the Yorkin family becomes an obsession that steadily becomes unhealthy. This film serves as great example of how we go about our everyday lives without giving a second thought to the people with whom we interact on a daily basis. What do we actually know about them? Are they dangerous? Are they even sane? This movie can make you think. . .
Not only is the movie very good, it is one of those dark sad and funny movies. Robin Williams is outstanding in the movie. I would recommend it to anybody.

Robin Williams plays an awesome psychopath!!! This is one of the greatest actors of our time. The story is Sy, the photo guy, lives alone and in his lonliness, and the fact that he develops photos for a particular family for years, creates fantasies that he is part of the family.. Uncle Sy. When he learns that the dad, who in his opinion has it all, is cheating, and he loses his job.. he snaps and goes on a rampage. Very, very good movie... and a good message. If you have a great family and live, be careful, you never know who's watching.
