Had defective pump on my ONAN 5500- where if the air temp was in the area of 90 degrees or higher the generator would stop running, then after a few minutes it would start and run for another few minutes...and that would go on and on and on... (if a fellow would keep recycling) This could go on til the air temps receded to below the mid 80"s In my case the fuel pump was located under the generator itself and unobstructed. Took me about an hour to remove and replace the unit. Runs fine now. This was an OEM unit running about $97.57 w/free shipping,,,, about best deal on the internet for OEM part.

Replaced original OEM fuel pump with another OEM pump. Their were no issues with the install and once installed, worked as it should. Didn't want to take a chance on an "off" brand pump. The original pump lasted 8 years and more than 450 hours. As one of rhe pic shows, I also added an Oregon brand fuel shut off valve. The other pic is a side by side look.

This is a OEM fuel pump for a 5500kw onan generator in our RV. First the bad the price was outrageous, over $100, but they are hard to find due to Covid, even Onan didn't have any in stock. Now the good, it is a brand new OEM product and fit perfect.

These usually fail at around 450 hours. If yours hasn't been changed now would be a good idea. my original made it 657 hours . There are aftermarkets out there for less money but why take chances?

This pump is the exact replacement for your rv generator. Fits Onan/ Cummings 5500 generator. Installation is approximately 45 minutes to install, and is done from underneath the generator. Great product thanks.
