Unfortunately I can't recommend this apple slicer, while it is lightweight with the partial aluminum construction, it does not cut well. The stainless steel blades are thick and it tears your fruit with a rough and uneven cut. Highly Not recommended.

I've tried different apple slicers (mostly plastic), so when I saw this ALL metal slicer I was optimistic. I used it twice on Ruby Red apples (pretty crispy). On my third attempt while pressing down on the apple the blades separated from the body of the corer and I sliced my thumb in the process. All of the blades were stuck in the apple and I couldn't remove them from the apple. I just threw the whole thing into the trash. So disappointed as I eat probably 3 or 4 apples a day.

Nice slicer, love the smaller slices, and more slices than my old one. It is very sturdy and has big handles that allow more leverage. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

It is hard to push, there are peelings still attached at the bottom because it doesn't cut cleanly. I had to order a Pampered Chef one because we tried one of theirs and it worked very well.
