Overall the image stabilization and range was what prompted me to buy this product. But my main criticism is the displayed distances. It only gives you one choice at a time—actual distance or horizontal distance and is unable to display the angle of inclination. You need to switch modes and re-target to get the other non default value. Not at all convenient. Many other rangefinders will display both distances and the angle of inclination. The other problem is with the eye relief. There isn’t a elongated eye cup like is found in all other rangefinders. This means you need to hold the rangefinder away from your eye at a precise distance to see the entire field. I find I need to create a circle using my index finger and thumb so I can push the rangefinder far enough away from my eye and still keep it relatively steady. So two hands are now needed. What archer or hunter wants to do this and also attempt to try to switch modes quickly. Too bad, love the stabilization however.Read full review

Unit works well under 500 to 600 yards, it gets iffy beyond that. The greatest distance that I could get a reading on was 2259 yards on a stainless steel tank. . The stabilization seams to work well, how ever the cross hairs are way too thick to be really accurate. I would not buy again as it is way over rated . The unit not what Nikon advertises, I would buy a SIG 2200 long before I would not select this one again. I wish Nikon would be realistic in their advertising. I just don't know how they got 3000 yards. Today the cheap elastic strap that holds the case shut broke. The way it is made it is not repairable.

This rangefinder seems very good for the money. I’ve not yet used it on deer and elk at long range, but have gotten readings out to 1200 yards on boulders/rock face. I’ve gotten readings on bushes and trees out to 800 yards, so that should make it all you need for most hunting situations. The stabilizing feature is very cool, really smooths things out. It would be better if it was threaded for a tripod for those wishing to maximize its potential. The other less than ideal feature is 2 buttons on top, which could get troublesome with cold and or nervous fingers.

Not ready for prime time. Stablization works extremely well, but the stablization appears to only affect the optics not the laser. For a LRF that claims 1500 yard on deers, I had trouble ranging steel plates at 800 yards. The Sig LRF under the exact same condition had no trouble ranging it. Works great as a stablized monocular or for ranging short to medium distance,

I really like the image stabilization feature, works awesome . Clear optics . I really don't need 3000 yard ranging but it is what it is. I Will be using in Idaho this September so i will know how it works for hunting .
