Night of the Demons is one of the best examples of 80s cheesy cinema you can find. It hits all the notes Joe Bob loves (boobs, blood and beasts), while keeping tongue firmly in cheek. The plot is simple. A bunch of teen stereotypes gather in a haunted house for a party. And, as you might have guessed, a demon gets loose and begins to possess them. Nudity and mayhem ensues. The movie spends a good half hour setting up the plot and introducing us to the characters (I can't say developing them, as they are all basic stereotypes) before unleashing the demon horde. While this might drag a bit, it keeps the effects budget concentrated on the latter half of the film, and FX artist Steve Johnson delivers with some great, gloppy work. This film was one of the top grossing horror films of the decade for good reason. It's a fun little film that delivers on the three Bs needed for a drive in movie (boobs, blood and beasts, according to Joe Bob Briggs). Sure, you can criticize some of the acting as being rather anemic (though no one gives a truly cringe-worthy performance) and some scenes would be considered terribly un-PC. But for horror fans, this is a sterling example of the campy, fun, drive-in style horror film that just aren't made any more.Read full review

Made back in the golden age of the 80s, this horror movie is a true gore fest! You have to see it to believe it. This one in particular is the unrated version so, even better, right? Mess with the dark side and see where it gets you. Joining the party😳. I for one always enjoyed this original before they had to do a remake. A valued flick for any real horror movie buff, cheers👍🏻

This is a great horror flick! First time I saw it was back in the mid to late 90's when I was in Blockbuster with my niece and nephew. They are real horror movie fans so when they came up to me with the title in the store, I said okay we'll rent it. Usually b-horror movies are really more funny than scary but I have to say that Night of the Demons is not. It was very creepy and had me jumping on some parts. This film also has an interesting sub plot involving an apple given out by a halloween scrooge... Featuring Linea Quigley (one of the best B-Horror actresses of all time) the lipstick scene (pricesless) you can't go wrong with this one! I highly recommend for all you horror fans out there. It is well worth checking out. I purchased this movie as a Christmas gift for my niece as it is her favorite scary movie. I am sure she will be very surprised!Read full review
This DVD took me back, I mean way back. I used to love this movie. I bought it on VHS and it didn't work out. I can see why we've evolved from those things (broken). I was blown away by how the value of this movie has gone up from just a year ago. Best Buy had it for like 12.99. Now, you'll be lucky to get it for 30.00! Glad I spent the money, it was great watching it on high definition tv. So glad I bought it and I'll keep it forever. Though it was used, super clean on arrival. Absolutely no scratches, played without any problems. Just happy all the way around.
