I actually did not purchase this metronome for piano practice, although I do play. I purchased it for the timing I needed to do physical therapy exercises for balance and vision problems. For that purpose it works quite well. Although it has a bell as well as the standard metronome pendulum, the bell can be turned off, which in my opinion is a plus. The casing was nice and sturdy and the metronome works well. I have had it for about three weeks now.

This Metronome is not like the higher quality metronomes I have used in the past. It is VERY LOUD and sounds cheap. It seems to be mechanically sound and it does have an adjustable bar bell to help count out the measures.

Excellent product but very loud, which, in my opinion, is a good thing. It's better to be too loud than not being able to hear it over the music and go out of time. One can always use ear plugs to soften the sound slightly if needed. I highly recommend this product.
