I once could get excited to talk about making my own Espresso. Now, it's rare. What I want: espresso that is no fuss, from a machine that doesn't cost a fortune. The brand Mr Coffee is it! I'd say I would look no further, but all of my machines have died eventually. I guess I'm shopping for a new machine every 3 years or so. It's possible that I wouldn't have this turnover if I just spent, oh, say, at least $300, maybe up to a $thousand (!, please!). Instead I buy another $40-$80 Mr Coffee. What I like that is unique: I can brew 4 shots of espresso at once! Seriously I haven't found another at any price that will do that! Well, this new one doesn't either - oh well. No, this time I SPLURGED and spent $150. The espresso is noticeably better. Maybe because it extracts with respectable pressure. One thing I LOVE about it - you can remove the filter immediately after it has drawn one, and not have it explode all over you and everything else in a 5' radius. Why, if I bought a second Double filter, I could be back to extracting 4 shots (almost) at once. The milk frother apparatus works very well, and while a Cappuccino on occasion is nice, it's not feature I'd purposely pay extra for. In conclusion, the Cafe Barista did not break the bank, makes adequately fine espresso, and cleans up easily. We'll see if it lasts more than 3 years.Read full review

*Brews quickly...once it heats up. And don't forget to grind the coffee fine, or your first cups will be pretty weak (I was working through my pre-ground coffee and....erm. Grind fine). But since I worked out the basics, it's been delightful. Not quiet, but quieter than doing my own milk frothing, and it does a better job. It's much easier to clean than my Ninja (knocking out a tamped block of grounds is a lot less work than trying to clean a fine mesh). Hopefully it will last longer too.

Love this machine! I had a simple espresso maker that was supposed to make foam but no matter what I did, it was hit or miss. I'm a cappuccino or latte drinker so that was always a big disappointment. This machine has setting for a latte or cappuccino (as well as espresso only) that makes the appropriate amount of foam and steamed milk ratio for the specific drink automatically. Saving me money at Starbucks! The only downside to this machine is that I probably now drink too much coffee!

this is the same second capuccino maker we own. The previous one started to fail when making the milk foam...but it was after 5 yrs of daily use. Still, the coffee brew is working normally...so we decided to buy a second one to keep the cappuccinos rolling everyday....it is a great machine for the price.
