I bought this phone for my Mother in law to replace the old Motorola she had. She liked her old one but it stopped charging so this was a good inexpensive way to upgrade her phone. She likes it bc it is easy to use, and it's simple. She uses the phone primarily for calls, but she is learning to text, too. It has plenty of memory for what few pictures she has on it, and we can select different ringtones for her contacts so she doesn't have to get her glasses out to see who's calling. I used to have a Motorola myself, and I had the same problem that she had with her old one, it stopped charging. I don't know if it is a coincidence or if this is a problem with Motorola phones, but for the price it's worth trying. Other than that, we both liked our Motorolas. If they came out with a Smart Phone comparable to the Iphone I would definitely try it.Read full review
Even though the RAZR is not the latest and greatest, It Is a GREAT phone. I Like/Love Motorola products. They are rugged and work forever.I bought the RAZR V3 to replace the one I lost. My son had one and I liked the speaker phone part of it. He always carried it in his lap in the Tahoe and never remembered to retrieve it before he got out. Countless times it hit the concrete or asphalt, and never seemed any worse for wear. I had my replacement for almost a day before I fumbled it and it hit the Concrete... Hard. Not a scratch on it and It has been dropped since and still works. The phone has more features than I will ever use. I am not sure how many phone numbers the RAZR will hold, but I have never been able to max it out. One thing I don't like is the color display....Easy to read inside, but must be covered or in the shade for me to see it in bright sunlight. As a Oilfield Electrician and Instrument Tech My company Motorola cell was exposed to Harsh Electromagnetic and Electrostatic fields along with rain and lots of dirt. Always worked. The RAZR is almost always able to acquire a signal, Even in Elevators and steel reinforced Concrete buildings. For me the RAZR would be the perfect phone if it had a black and white display that I could see in the sunshine. Maybe that will change after my cataract surgery. $36 on E bay with two GOOD batteries and a charger. Battery life is great I can go three days or more without a charge, depending on use. I LOVE my RAZR If you want an inexpensive RUGGED WORKS ANYWHERE phone Get a RAZR. If You want a touch the screen and move the pictures with your finger or whatever, get an Iphone. $200-$300 with a 2 year contract AT&T Jan 2011 Son Got one Great phone ME..... I LOVE my RAZRRead full review
I strongly prefer to carry my phone in vibrate mode and in my pocket, so the size weight and design of the RAZR V3 was very appealing, but not so much after wearing out my second one in as many years. They would simply fall apart under heavy day-to-day use (Back plate falling off, keyboard not registering key presses, etc.). Forced to replace my phone in a hurry, I almost got the V3xx by accident while considering another 'same-old', V3 but they were out! What a blessing to be forced by circumstances to upgrade to a superior phone. It's already wearing MUCH BETTER than the predecessor and I'm very much enjoying the added features including: * Higher quality 2MegaPixel Camera * Improved USB connectivity (Using Motorola Phone Tools is easier then ever) * Great keyboard still working even after heavy use with games, messages, etc. * Interesting MP3 player capability The new menu system took a bit of getting used to, but is now working for me as-well-as-ever. Unfortunately the new voice dial feature is a step backward in functionality, but I can live with that for what is a clearly superior phone in many other ways. NOTE: After 24+ month of use the phone froze up on me. I tried everything I knew and even began to use a replacement phone. Then I discovered a note on the Internet about the boot command which is to press pound ("#") and star ("*") while powering the unit on. That's just what it needed and it's back in service again with NO apparent problems. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . If you found this review interesting or useful would you vote [YES] below. The Motorola Razor V3xx is, by far, my favorite of all cell phones that I’ve used. It has all the features that I love, Bluetooth, CV video (cellular video), mp3 player, Instant Messenger (a choice between AIM, Windows Live, or Yahoo). The games selection isn’t great, but they have several trial versions, and the graphics on the games are very clear and not ‘jumpy’ like some phones I’ve used. I think they could use a few more tools, since there are only 5. The 1.3 MP camera takes very clear photos. I print them off at Wal-Mart and the store associate that checked me out commented on the pictures being very clear. Access to the internet, and loading web pages, is super fast. Sometimes you have to give the video you’re trying to view a little extra time to load, but once they load the picture is crisp and clear. It works great with my Bluetooth earpiece, and transfers data to other phones through the Bluetooth link very quickly. The only thing negative I can say about the Motorola Razor V3xx is that I haven’t figured out how to work the video share while in a phone call. I’m sure it’s more me then the phone, but they have quick link options for everything else on this phone, why not that too?? But, overall, I love the Motorola Razor V3xx. Since I got my phone when my contract renewed and got the phone free, it will take a lot for me to switch phones. Rating: 10Read full review
The phone looks nice and is Bigger than the RAZR V3, so if you have big hands you will like that feature but the cases, skins, belt holsters and such of my V3 won't work on it. I've found accessories for it on eBay are very limited. The Phone Battery does get Hot after only a few minutes of talk time? I turned all the extras off like wallpaper, screen saver, even set the Backlights to their minimum yet the battery life is very short. I don't talk on it much like most people and still have to charge it every two days, My V3 would last a week. Might be the 3G network? But my signal strength is half of the V3. The Ringer is not loud enough for me and the Vibrate feature is worthless, I can not even feel it Vibrate while in my pocket. While the phone looks a lot like the V3 I find the features much harder to find/access & use than the V3. I kind of like the phone but would not buy another. If your one that likes to take a lot of pictures or talk or text a lot I don't think you will be pleased with this phone or Buy a LOT of extra Batterys. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this phone about a 7.Read full review
