An astronaut is nearing the end of his three year term manning a space station that collects a new fuel for earth by mining energy from the moon, however he starts to feel unwell and is hallucinating a little too. Things get worse when he crashes his space harvester into a rock. Luckily for him, his robot helper GERTY rescues him.... or does it? The trailer made Moon look like a strange sci-fi mystery, but even watching the trailer you could make an educated guess as to what was going on (or what was going to happen) and much to my surprise, that is EXACTLY what happened in the film. It seemed (to me *AND* Wifey - she NEVER figures stuff out in advance) obvious what was happening from the moment Sam the astronaut discovers another version of himself (that is shown in the trailer, so it is not a spoiler) So the plot plods along and you more feel like the cast are playing catch up with you, as you know what is going to happen next, but for some reason Sam and his new friend "Sam" don't. Even when they do, you feel like shouting at the screen "why did it take you so long to figure this out??" This was a HUGE disappointment to me as I was expecting a classic off the wall sci-fi movie, and what I ended up with was a good (don't get me wrong, it was a good movie that was well acted) but VERY predictable movie. (Wifey gave it three stars too) that I have no desire to watch again.Read full review
Engaging and unique story with Sam Rockwell playing the lead in dual parts. Satisfying ending.

This movie is a classic. The blu-ray behind the scenes are also great content. The director only had a budget of 5 million dollars but he really did an excellent job. He used models like Star Wars, not special effects. Truly a great movie.
Great
