he Mio 200 has a nice feature set including: Preloaded U.S. Maps Text-to-speech With Voice Guidance Over 3.5 Million Points of Interest Sensitive GPS Receiver SD/MMC Expansion Slot The unit comes with a USB charger, mounting hardware and USB PC cable, and DVD. I was impressed with the receiver's sensitivity. My old unit really needed to be pointed at the sky to pick up the satellites; the Mio can actually operate from inside my house! I was also amazed at the "Back-on-track" function. No matter how badly I messed up my route, the little machine continually reprogrammed itself, and made sure I knew how to find my destination. The Mio screen has plenty of brightness, and lots of audio volume to be an effective driving tool in the car. The female voice is very natural sounding, so much so, that if she hasn't spoken in a while, it can be a little disconcerting when she pops up to give new instructions. There are a few things, which need improvement. Mio provides a "Quick Start Guide", which basically includes some installation pictures, and instructions on how to start-up the unit. There is also a brief, on-screen tutorial. I thought that the included DVD would have the full-blown manual, but it did not. Neither does the Mio website. So to paraphrase the "Where's the Beef?" lady, "Where's the Book?" There was an FAQ on the Mio site that stated the book would be available in the summer of '08. Hey! That's now! The Mio 200 is not a toy! It is an intelligent, state-of-the art computing system! It deserves, and the user needs to have a full-blown manual to find and implement all the features.Read full review
I bought a used Mio Moov 200 five weeks ago and was impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive GPS Receiver. It has multicollor screen and eassy to operate. So far it works perfect. My only complaint is that the car windshield mount is not included in that package, so I need to spand more mony for shipment charge from other source as well as time to find that source. I'd recommend the that purchase but with the missing mout to be included.
First time I have ever used a device of this nature. It is unique, accurate and fun to use. It is relatively easy to program and lets you know where you are, how far you have to go, the speed at which you are traveling and points of interest ahead. Based on your destination and speed it also give you an ETA to your destination. The voice commands are pleasant and understandable. I'm quite pleased with the purchase and look forward to using it on every trip.
I love that its so light. The software, which came with the unit and was supposed to be useable turn by turn for Israel doesn't work well with this system. Freezes often - right when I am on a highway and can't turn it on and off 50 times to reset it. Thus I have a beautiful and light gadget, but it doesn't work where it is supposed to work. So I can't give it an Excellent review since the item doesn't get me where I need to go, and I can't give it a poor review because the Unit itself seems to work. Make sure if you buy foreign maps from a seller that you confirm that the software/maps are original for that Unit and not copied to a Memory card.
I have used the Garmin, Magellan and Tom Tom and the Moov 200 is just as good as the others. There are little quirks in all of them; i.e. I have to put in Denver as the city for my home rather than Thornton because we are in unincorporated city limits. I had to do this with all of the ones I used. It is just as accurate and half the price. I highly suggest you purchase this one over the others. You can buy the updates for it that offer traffic details and directions for other countries like Mexico or Canada ... even Europe! Don't waste your money on other machines ... buy one on the cheap on Ebay and buy the updates if you need them and you will come out ahead $$$ wise.
