The one I bought was a white Pirouette but nevertheless it is an S7580 just like the one pictured and I am loving every minute of it! This is a completely sealed-system vacuum and the HEPA filter emits nothing but clean air back out so I feel less allergic to what I breathe (except for the plants coming from outside of my window which makes me sneeze). The S7580 also has an Automatic suction adjustment which lowers the motor power in case if I am cleaning the drapes, but there is also an additional six manual-level power adjustments which can also be controlled electronically via the (+/-) push buttons. The Swivel-Neck feature twists and turns effortlessly in any direction you drive it to -- does it much better than a Dyson ball. The amazing L.E.D. headlight not only adds beauty but it is also very useful in low lit areas as well which helps beam out any dirt particles the naked eye usually misses. Bottom line: the best vacuum ever made!Read full review
It really does a great job. It's quiet, it cleans the heck out of the carpet, and it really looks and feels well built. My biggest gripe with the Miele so far is the location of the main power switch and the agitator bursh motor switch. They are very close together, and are very easy to accidentally turn off. The Miele replaced a three year old Dyson DC-25. The Dyson was a decent product, but I had to have it in for repairs twice, and I was not impressed with all the intricate plastic pieces that were showing signs of excessive wear. This was really evident in the upright locking release mechanism. The Miele is definitely more solid and simple in it's design, and althouth it is much heavier than the Dyson and requires more effort to operate, it does pick up the knap of the carpet noticeably better. The suction power of the Miele and Dyson are comparable. The biggest difference that I can see is how the agitator brush picks up the carpet on the Miele. It stands to reason that if the knap of the carpet is picked up, the dirt beneath it gets removed. Bagless vs bagged: My purchase of the Dyson was partially influenced by the bagless design. I was tired of purchasing bags, and the thought of just dumping the canister after each use was and saving money on replacement bags was appealing. Dumping the dirt out of the canister is not a neat and clean operation. Dumping it inside the house is just not an option in my opinion, and even dumping it outside is somewhat messy. Dirt also builds up in the vortex tubes in the canister and requires periodic cleaning. The HEPA exhaust filter also requires frequent maintenance in that it is in contact with the dirt collected in the canister. Now for the bagged Miele: I was surprised at the size of the bag for this model. It has a large capacity. We have two dogs in our home, and this requires me to vacuum twice a week. I have had the Miele almost two months now and the bag is still in good shape. Also, the filtering that the bag provides will extend the life of the HEPA exhaust filter. The cost of the replacement bags is definitely a factor....they aren't cheap, but I guess it's up to the individual preferences. Personally, I was caught off guard with the amount of maintenance that was necessary to keep the bagless design working at top efficiency. Overall I am very impressed with this cleaner. I'm really surprised at how quiet it is, and the quality feel of the construction. I'm anticipating that this cleaner will last a lot longer and will not require the maintenance and repairs the Dyson did. Time will tell.Read full review
Miele vacuum manufacturerd December 2008. Excellent suction for being over 10 years old, doesn't smell and the HEPA filter, standard option, is great for allergy/asthma sufferers. Its a bagged vacuum and there's no dirt or dust when changing the cloth bag. Just a great machine.

What a quality vacume for the price! (I have owned 2 Electrolux and 1 Kirby and each one cost twice what this one did). I purchased this because my carpet is very difficult to vacume. Everything sticks to it like velcro! Nothing worked! This gets it up in 1 swipe! Its very maneuverable, too! The tools are easy to use. My only dislikes are that you have to hand rewind the cord since its an upright and it isn't self propelled so your arm gets a little tired after a while. However, my sister has one just like it and doesn't find that her arm gets tired, so maybe it is just me.
Best vacuum I ever owned. Quite & Powerful. Bought one for my daughter-in-law, she loves it. I love the extension hose, very long reach.
