The Micronta 22-204 was one of Radio Shack's more popular multimeters back in the late 1970s and through the 1980s. The 22-204A is one of the earlier ones. It's accurate, durable, and packed with the features one would expect in a professional grade multimeter. The fact that so many of them are available on eBay today is a testament to their build quality 30-odd years ago. These meters were sold mainly into the consumer market and received fairly gentle use so the biggest problem one is likely to encounter is batteries that have leaked inside the device. Fortunately, alkaline battery residue is easily removed with white vinegar. A good analog multimeter is a must-have tool for any electronics hobbyists workbench and this model is worthy of consideration.

I recently bought two of these meters. Its hard to tell which meter came from which vendor. One meter had one bad resistor and upon replacing a 0.48 ohm resistor was again a great meter with all AMP scales working. The other had two bad resistors and two blown traces in the circuit board. Upon replacing the two bad resistors and putting a jumper to missing connections in the PWB, I have a great fully functional meter with all Ohms modes working. One resistor also needed a tweek to meet full calibration to perfection. I have loved and used an identical meter for over 40 years.

I had one of these for years and gave it to my grandson. So I could not find a different one that I liked. This will fill the bill.
