Pink Floyd's Meddle was arguably the best work of the bands career up to that point, and was an extremely well balanced and focused album, which was released just after the soundtrack to the French movie Obscured By Clouds. That music flowed beautifully, but was conceptual, and folowed the particular guidelines of the producer of that film. Meddle, however, stands alone and apart from that work, displaying the ever-growing musical talents of the band, and the songwriting abilities of Roger Waters. I bought this particular CD, as it was offered by a seller who just happened to be selling the DVD of the Syd Barrett Story, (which I also bought)who was the founding member of the group, and had just recently died at age 60, which prompted me to begin a Pink Floyd retrospective, buying books, video, and music to help me to re-visit the amazing career of this remarkable band. Meddle contains beautiful music through-out, and I particularly love the song Fearless for the dynamic chord progression, and the powerful lyrics. That song, alone, was probably the main reason I wanted this CD. That, and the fact that it filled a particular niche in my collection, as I last owned this on Vinyl! The ONLY thing which I dislike about this particular CD, is what I consider the weakest part, musically, which is the song Seamus, a Blues track accompanied by the howling of the dog Seamus. Another small gripe is that the cover artwork is darker than the origional, and not well defined, which leads me to suspect that it may be a copy.Read full review
Had this on vinyl for years, then lost it in a flood. I haven't heard it for 20 years, & forgot just how good it was. This sound quality on this CD is as good as it gets, & the price was definitely worth it. The mail system was a tad slow, but when I put it on, I forgot about that!

I bought this CD because it was the least dark of all Pink Floyd's albums.I love Pink Floyd's music, but the subject matter is usually dark.If you like this CD,you'll love the video Live at Pompei, most of the same songs are on it,and they"re recorded with very good quality equipment so the sound is terrific.

Right before they exploded into rarefied air with Dark Side of the Moon, all the signs are here with some surprisingly lighter moments that are spot on. Fearless is one of my all-time favorite Floyd songs and Echoes is epic, with classic Gilmour guitar brilliance.

Classic. An experience of Auditory delight. Mood enhancing. This is a great studio album There is a continuity of thoughts and ideas. The Sound of the band is neat and precise. The Track order is perfect. Does anybody make albums like this anymore? They don't need to because Pink Floyd Meddle is the real deal. Better than Animals, The Wall, and the rest. I would rate them like this: 1. Dark Side 2. Wish you were here 3. Meddle It's really that good Best track: Fearless-Wish you were here type ballad with groove Buy it or miss out and listen to Hey You for the Millionth time!
