Well, what can be said of Sir Paul McCartney that hasn't already been said. His first solo album without The Beatles is nothing short of brilliant and showcases the genius of his songwriting ability and musical talents.Everyone FOCUSES on the next to the last track,'Maybe I'm Amazed' and discards the rest.DO NOT DO THIS!!!The whole album is brilliant, and one of my favorites is "Every Night" which is fantastic.Several instrumental tracks-"Singalong Junk" and "Momma Miss America" is not to be missed.AND if you do not know,Paul played every instrument on this CD himself, dubbed track by track...YES!!!EVERY INSTRUMENT HIMSELF on this CD.Unbelievable.Fantastic!!!His wife,Linda sang on the background vocals and had a great performance on the whole album.I remember The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964(mom wouldn't let me stay up to see them, past my bedtime....awww,mom why not?I was 5 at the time.)I remember The Beatles cartoons on Saturday mornings, and I would sing along to all the Beatlemania hits.Great times. To say I am a Beatles fan is an understatement of the decade.Unfortunately,I never saw them in concert, and I was only 8 in 1966 when their last concert was played at Candelstick Park in San Francisco in August.Too young and a few hundred miles away.Boo Hoo.BUT,I was there in spirit.I remember when this album on record first came out---Yes,a record(a black, vinyl disc with grooves, played by a record player-arm with a needle...oh.. never mind-lol)in 1970.I thought it was fantastic then,as I do now.You hear much more definition with the instruments on the CD,and I am happy that the tracks on this CD followed the album along with the same mix.I bought this now rare OOP CD to preserve the same sound as the album.Hopefully, and I mean hopefully the new remixed 5.1 reissue due next month in June 2011 will follow the same mix as this CD.If it doesn't,it will a great loss, and I would suggest buying this CD instead. Now,some younger readers will say,"he's an old geezer, and he doesn't know good (modern) music."Well,I do know good music, and I've said in other reviews that music has stunk fot the past 30 years.Sure, there are some artists-Madonna,Prince,Michael Jackson, the Police which are great and have great dance music. But those few are the exceptions. Not many more after that. I"M POSITIVE that if I'm around in another 40 years my review would be EXACTLY the same. There is a reason why these "ol' geezer" bands are in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame.Listen and be wise. Now,If they only would induct Ozzy(Black Sabbath) and Chicago into the Hall Of Fame-a crying shame they're not there and left out.Read full review
I bought this old edition of McCartney, and I think it sounds great. I have compared it to the newest remaster online (through itunes), and I can't hear much of a difference. So if you are considering the old remastering from the '90's, buy with confidence!

This is an old album with some great songs froma bygone era. It contains popular & well known songs such as Maybe I'm amazed & also the lesser known ones which are also very good. This is my second copy and I have liked this particular cd since I first heard it just after itcame out in 1970. I consider myself fortunate to have foundit as it is very hard to find.
Great CD from the man himself!!!
