The Mathews MQ1 has proven to be a very fast bow. It looks great, can be cranked up to 70lbs pull and is very accurate. The only drawbacks Ive noticed is the bow comes stock with the 70% let-off cam (which is faster, but can be a bear to hold back for long periods of time) and the axle to axle is a little longer than a lot of the bows on the market today (about 37"). I've heard shorter bows though compromise accuracy so Ill take the little longer length in return. I was shooting 5" groups at 40 yards first day I had it set up. Id consider it lethal to any unsuspecting creature within about 60 yards. A good buy for the money.
i have owned many many many (get the point?) new bows over the years and have always came back to ol' faithful...MQ1's, i do not believe there has ever been a better, more forgiving bow to shoot made by any company in the past or the present.

Well this is one bow that I bought new back in '97 and still have it plus 2 more. I can't tell you how many deer and hogs I've shot with my MQ1. It has always been the quietest bow I've owned. It shoots a 395gr. arrow @ 295fps, that might not be fast enough for some but the arrow is sticking out of the ground with blood on it before the animal knows what happened, and its so quiet it doesn't spook other animals in the area. I am presently shooting bowtechs but still always pull the MQ1 out and shoot it too because its so smooth to pull back and a pleasure to shoot. I tell my friends its the best bow I've owned and will not sell. My advice if you don't care about speed buy a MQ1 you'll love it.
IMO one of Mathew's best bows and the the "forerunner" of today's parallel limb craze. It's a "Classic" that can still match up to today's "Modern" bows. Super smooth drawing StraightLine MaxCam that delivers surprising speed with out the shock and vibration you'd come to find with older "fast" bows. Very quiet and physically light in weight. As with all Mathew's bows it drawlength runs a little long......so, you may want to purchase one that's 1/2" less then your actual DL.
This is a fine short, light weight Bow. I expected it would need some spruceing up,as used bows do. I was not displeased that I baught this fine bow. The price was fair, and I am happy .
