Graphics: 4/5 Sound: 5/5 Controls: 5/5 Gameplay: 4/5 Replay: 5/5 Overall: 4.5/5 Graphics: 4/5 The graphics are very good in this game. The 3D art style transposed to a 2D game is once again well done by Capcom. The frame rate and the smoothness of this game is very impressive, which is key in a fighting game. I went into the game with low expectations (considering that the last MvC game was released 10 years ago). The in-game rendering, images, and colors really put you into the game. It moves so fast that you really don’t see the flaws unless you are looking for them. The most interesting thing that this game does well are the special aerial-combos and the tag animations, and the animations of the hyper combos (especially a level 3 finish). The shadows, lighting effects, and motions are good, and get you into the game. The charm is the comic art style, yet it is not as detailed as Super Street Fighter 4. Sound: 5/5 What gives this game a 4/5 in the sound department is the soundtrack, the speech, and the sound effects. A lot of care and love went into making sure there was an impact when hits were made. The voice acting is superb and it really brings back the days of the arcade from Marvel vs. Capcom 1 + 2. Controls: 5/5 Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is easy to pick up and play if you are new to the fighting genre, yet deep enough that you can make it as complex (for you veterans) as you wish. As an example, let’s compare the control schemes between Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Street Fighter 4. Having a Tournament Edition stick from the release of Street Fighter 4, it is the same layout and button configuration as the MvC3 Tournament Edition stick. In using this stick with this game, I am starting to prefer using the standard controller that comes with the system. You can tell the developers wanted as much adoption as possible to this game, and made it nice with the button layout and intuitive to use, especially in the heat of the moment. I must say that compared to a traditional fighting game, the standard controller may be better than the fight stick, and is the way to go for this title – however, it is up to the users preference. Gameplay: 4/5 Let me start by saying that when playing this game with a friend, there is nothing better. I have logged in 6 hours so far in the game, and only stopped because of work and sleep. This is a fun multiplayer game. However, if you have to go it solo, this is still a fun experience. This game can be completed in about 4-8 hours (depending on skill level and difficulty setting) to unlock everything, but it is an enjoyable experience. It is a through back to some fun gaming without the serious overtones found in many games. The reason it isn’t perfect is because playing online can sometimes be brutal, especially if new to the scene. Replay Value – 5/5 This is a great game, and a fun game, to play. The game is not too serious, and an awesome title that has been 10 years in the making. Though it is a shift from the standard fighting genre and control layout (as well as complexity), it is a must have in my book. All this being said, this was an enjoyable playing experience, especially in co-op mode/on-line mode, to play... and I have many more hours that I know I am going to invest in this title. All I can say is that if you disregarded this game because of it being a fighting game, or the because of the new control scheme, please take anotheRead full review
i waited long years from de dc version andi love it. i,m gratefull the configuration didn,t change to much, but at first i was sad when someone smashing buttons beated me. it seems you don,t need a very good strategy but in time its gonna be extremely hard to beat me. i bought the limited edition and i have jill and shuma gorath. i didn,t use the marvel code yet because you cannot download the comics, just read them and i don,t have the time to do it as i want. great game, i hope you could unlock more than 6 characters.
"After a decade of waiting, iconic Marvel and Capcom characters join forces again in a re-envisioned team fighting game for a new generation. Fill the shoes of legendary characters from the most beloved franchises in entertainment as you battle in a living comic book brought to life in a VS. fighting game for the first time by Capcom." Well, this kinda says everything that should be mentioned about Marvel vs Capcom 3. The most awaited fighting game sequel from all times. The Special Edition just adds more content to this masterpiece as the 2 DLC exclusive character and the amazing comic included. A must have for any video game addicted.
THIS IS AN AMAZING GAME.. IT TOOK SO LONG TO MAKE BUT THE GAME IS AMAZING THE WAY IS DESIGN HOW THE CHARACTERS ARE MADE. THE FIGHTING COMBAT IS SPECTACULAR, YOU NEED TO BE FAST WITH THE COMBOS AND KNOW WHEN TO BRING OUT YOUR NEXT CHARACTER. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A GAME LIKE THIS IN THE PAST 10 YEARS. THE LAST TIME I SAW A GAME AS GOOD AS THIS WAS IN 2000 MARVEL VS CAPCOM 2. ONE OT THE AMAZING THINGS ABOUT THIS GAME IS THE SPECIAL EDITION THE WAY THE BOX IS DESIGN WITH THE ART ALL OVER AROUND, NEVER SEEN SOMETHING THAT BEAUTIFUL. I WOULD GIVE THIS GAME A 11/10. BUT THATS JUST ME A GAMER LOL EDUARDO TORRES
Graphics-99/Sound-95/Controls-95/Blast Force-91/Overall-95 I am sure that there are those that are upset with the heading and with Capcom, but hear me out. The graphics are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G., amazing, but it doesn't stop there. This game is gonna put fighters back on the map, especially if MK can give it a good run. There are no weakenesses here. It plays great and looks great; far better than the last. The online is pretty smooth as far as performance, and it appears you don't even have to win to rank up! So if the game is this good out of the box, unlike some other games I know, (cough, ahem, Suck Ops, cough) why not cut Capcom some slack and give this game a chance. Obviously I haven't gotten to the DLC yet as it is the 9th of March that I am writing this, but my expectations are so-so. It should be ok. I just have this fixation on Jill, especially in her RE5 form, and I'm probably not the only one so what the hey?! Just buy it!!!Read full review
