Very wide range of tones. Nice clean sound or heavy metal crunch. And everything in between. The two channels make it nice to go from clean to crunch with a footswitch. That comes with it by the way. Good Marshall tone at low volume. Perfect size for practice or studio at the 7.5 watt setting or switch to 15 watts for a small gig. It can get pretty loud. And has good headroom to stay clean with high volume. Overall I'm very happy with it and would buy one again if something happen to this one.

Half power on the classic gain channel with the volume cranked up is perfect for my little studio. Full power it keeps up with the 40W SS amps my friends bring over. I thought it was the best under $500 practice amp I tried out. ymmv
