I'm a bit of a film snob (Faves include Bull Durham, O Brother Where Art Thou, The Big Easy, Out of Sight) but this film is hands down my favorite guilty pleasure. You know the one; the one you watch every time you come across it on TV with the remote in your hand so that you can change the channel in case someone comes in. Yes, it's dumb and over the top but it's not pretending to be something it's not. Surprisingly, there's an element of honesty and wit that with enough stretching of the definition, could pass as sly social commentary. Watch it while washing down the greasy, unauthentic Chinese food from the dive around the corner with that cheap beer you secretly like.
We purchased this movie, not knowing what to expect, but hoping it would be very funny. It was somewhat comical at times, but not what we had expected. We did not prefer Jamie Kennedy's leading role as "B-RAD". If someone else played the leading role, the movie may have received a much higher rating from us. It kept our attention from beginning to end, but wouldnt be a movie we would watch again anytime soon. It maybe one you would like to see, but purchasing it... we personally would rent it first, then decide. OUR RATING: 4/10 , 4.5/10 (Borderline to Below-Average)
Check your brain at the door and have some fun. These actors did a great job, lots of knee slapping laughs with this movie. Got a great value and will be enjoyed over and over :)
