Although the Remington factory stock is very good, MAGPUL's Hunter 700 upgraded stock is a quantum leap in technology for this rifle! It makes the 700 feel like a whole new gun! You cannot beat MAGPUL's quality, and compared to other similar 700 stock upgrades, the price makes it a clear choice. Note that you'll have to completely disassemble the forend to install the M-lock rails. My one complaint which is not reflected in my 5 Star rating of this product, is that like many manufacture's MAGPUL is proprietary, their HUNTER 700 stock NOT being an exception. I had invested a lot of money in a popular trigger guard/magazine adapter system with several magazines for my Remington factory stock. Even though this name-brand system was for my 700 short-action factory stock, it would NOT fit the Hunter stock. It necessitated me purchasing MAGPUL's system with their magazines which will ONLY work on the Hunter 700. Ironically I called Remington, MAGPUL and several gun part distributors to ask what short-action magazines were compatible with other trigger guard systems. No one could answer my question, so be aware of this before buying.Read full review

I installed a older Remington 700 .243 caliber into this stock. It was so easy. And now I have a mag well with a lower clip. I took the gun out to a egg shoot and dialed it in at 100 yds. Shoots great, other than it's a little lighter and you feel the kick just a tad bit, but it looks fantastic, works perfectly. I have bought many Magpul items over the last 10+ years and have never been disappointed. Seller was great to work with andf very informative.

Great stock with lots of options: colors, cheek risers, length-of-pull spacers. I just wish it came with sling swivel studs installed. Almost every other stock (even the cheapest ones) comes standard with sling swivel studs, so it doesn't seem right to make buyers pay extra for expensive QD sling swivel socket cups, expensive QD sling swivels, and expensive M-Lok (TM) sling swivel adapters, but I guess that's how Magpul makes their money, because they just HAPPEN to sell all these expensive add-ons "available separately." Other than the missing sling swivel studs, it's a good value, but because Magpul didn't include those simple parts (which probably would only cost them $2 to include during manufacturing), it could cost buyers close to $100 extra to buy Magpul QD sling swivel socket cups, Magpul QD sling swivels, and Magpul M-Lok (TM) sling swivel adapters!Read full review

A great upgrade over the Hogue stock that came with my 700. Lots of features for the money.... external magazine option, adjustable length of pull and cheek rest, accessory mounting options. Looking forward to my next range trip to give it a test run. Should be excellent

This stock I would recommend for a replacement stock, no doubt. It is of good value for 200 dollars plus 80 or so for the clip and bottom components. That is close to 300 dollars. You can buy a quality stock made of fiberglass for 300, like a HS precision, used, off of Ebay. I have one of those and one of these. HS precision is sturdy and rigid, and built better, IMO. This stock is ok. It has a huge gap on top with the receiver on both sides, almost a 1/4 inch in some areas. It feels like it is made of plastic, to be honest, and has a cheap looking aluminum insert as a "chassis". HS precision stocks you hold in your hand and feel quality, no gaps and rigid and strong, fiberglass mold.
