Outstanding and Funny! Looney Tunes Golden Collection is a nice set to have in ones library. It takes back to the old days when times were better than they are now in the 2000's.

This collection could have been a whole lot better withoutthe inclusion of an entire disc worth of the dreaded "Speedy Gonzales" cartoons--a series which always made me cringe whenever they would play on Saturday mornings. On the other hand, there are some great Bugs cartoons here. Unfortunately though, there are also a lot of those annoying old Looney Tunes which are almost irrelevant and disconnected to the whole Bugs/Daffy/Wile E Coyote legacy, with parodies of Hollywood and other one-off themes and characters. In all honesty, I only enjoyed two out of the four discs in this set, and was disappointed in the purchase. However, if you want some of the great old Bugs cartoons--most notably the Yosemite Sam "Whoa dragon!!" and also another hilarious "Sir Loin of Pork" knight-themed short, then you'll have to have it. As I did.Read full review
When I got this collection, I thought to myself "WOW"! This was well worth the money I paid. Besides the fascinating selection of cartoons; the special features are extraordinary. I would recommend watching the episodes w/o commentary first & then watch them again w/commentary because you'll learn things you may have been unaware of. There are also interviews with some of the directors, animators & voice artists that were involved in the making of the cartoons; as well as, other voice artists, directors, writers, & many additional individuals of this present time. So if you're looking to have your mind blown away...this would certainly be a collection I would highly recommend. Hope this review sparks your interest & helps.

Yet another great 4 disc set from Warner Brothers. Each November I look forward to a new Volume being released as this seems to be the trend for the last 4 years. This four disc set contains 60 cartoons and clocks in at over 414 minutes. Some of these shorts have never been released on video before. Each cartoon has been digitally remastered and is uncut and uncensored. Each disc is organized with a central theme. Disc One focuses on Bugs Bunny. Disc Two focuses on one director. Disc Three is all about Speedy Gonzales and Disc 4 is the "Kitty Korner". There are many commentaries and behind the scenes featurettes, as well as a documentary from 1975 about Bugs Bunny. There is some great footage from the vaults and one includes Porky Pig swearing..(NO Kidding) Mono English soundtrack with English, Spanish, and French subtitles. My only gripe about this set is the way in which the discs fit in the digipak. This is smaller then the first three volumes and 2 discs are stacked on top of each other. They tend to fall out inside the box and get scratched. Not a good idea. I hope they go back to the larger format box for Volume 5. Overall a wonderful quality set with nice picture and sound. A bonus to my collection.Read full review
Transfer to DVD is very good, these cartoons all look great. Bonus materials good mix of DVD only mini-docs, "From the Vault" Snafu cartoons and selected commentaries. My only complaint is one whole disc devoted to Speedy Gonzalez, a one joke character if there ever was one. On the upside, no annoying Whoopi Goldberg PC disclaimer. I would give any of these sets a five rating. this one gets a four just because of Speedy.
