This replaced a similar older LG model which has been running 24/7 during the summer months for over a decade. This newer model has more robust electronic controls and provides such things as displaying both the set humidity and the actual humidity. It also allows the option of easily connecting a drain hose so that the condensate bucket does not need periodic emptying. (Of course, if you don't have a drain available, you can still use the bucket.) The unit is compact, has wheels, and has side handles which allow it to be lifted -- for example, to be placed on a surface next to a laundry sink so that the condensate drain hose can be used.

Works OK, but although it will indeed take 70 pints of water out of the air each day, in order for that to happen you will have to empty the tank constantly. I, for one, do not have time to check on it every two hours to do so. I am unsure as well whether the humidistat is actually working, as it never shuts off. That could be due to the cold temperatures of late, but who knows?

This LG dehumidifier has a nice design and good looking. When it runs, the fan make very loud noise. Also, when you remove the the bucket, the water will drip. It does do its job well though. I had it running 1 hour for the first time and it collected water 1/3 of the bucket.

Is able to suck out the water even in cold temperatures, without freezing over! I got my first LG dehumidifier and was amazed at how it was able to suck out the moisture when my fridge(***) junk just choked. I've been a fridge(***) appliance person but after 3 fridges dieing way too early, one flooding my kitchen, microwave not shutting off when the door is open(yes, that IS right and I have it yet), and about 10 JUNK JUNK dehumidifiers that simply die, leak Freon, mostly leak out Freon because they're so cheaply made, I'm done with Fridge(***) company junk and I'm going LG!!! It's the BEST! LG just works and works well!

I purchased this LG dehumidifier to replace another dehumidifier that had failed. The latest generation of LG dehumidifiers have proven to be very reliable in my opinion (I have one other that's been working for quite some time) and this one seems to be very well built. This model isn't as noisy as my older LG, but it still a bit on the noisy side. The compressor isn't noisy, but the fan is, especially on the high setting. In addition the fan continues to run all the time, even when the set level is reached. Other then that, it does and extremely effective job of pulling moisture from the air at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, I have no place to run a drain, so I have to empty the see through bin twice a day (which I don't mind, because it's very easy to empty and replace). It also has a nice feature which reminds you when it's time to clean the filter. All in all, I highly recommend this dehumidifier.Read full review
