This electronic deadbolt makes forgetting your keys a thing of the past.....unless the battery goes dead. It is so convenient to lock and unlock my door with just the push of a button (or a few buttons in the case of unlocking). The only issue that I found with this device was during installation. The new deadbolt came ready to fit a standard 2 1/2 inch deadbolt hole and my original was a 2 inch hole. Re-drilling was not a practical option so I was forced to grind off the raised housing on the inside of the lock. Fortunately it only required a Dremel with a metal cutting bit and it worked just fine. This removal did not affect the integrity of the lock or the positioning of the front and back plates as they are actually aligned by the screws that pass through the latch and tighten in the lock cylinder. For the convenience it provides at such a reasonable price, I highly recommend this unit.Read full review

This product was poorly designed and manufactured. The design is very sensitive to any misalignment of the holes in the door. If the deadbolt actuator inner and outer mechanisms are not aligned very carefully with each other as well as the bolt slide, the mechanism binds and will not lock. Even if the holes in the door are correct, the components have to be aligned very carefully and the screws torqued carefully; otherwise the mechanism will bind/seize. Having got mine to work correctly with much trouble and extensive testing initially, I found it was binding and would not lock the next day. I believe that was due to a change in outside temperature. I disassembled and reset every thing (another hour?) tried to find a more neutral alignment using my best judgement and 'feel' of the components. It seems to be working. However, this is a security item for my home and I remain uncomfortable relying on it. I may get another brand. In my business I have encountered many clients who use these on their doors & always felt they were such a convenience to have. After speaking with quite a few of my clients & doing some further research on my own, I discovered how helpful this would be to have on my own home - so I ordered one. What an excellent choice, super easy to install (especially for someone who is mechanically challenged like myself), fairly easy to program after you fully read the instructions on programming, a breeze to use, etc., my list of positive comments could go on & on. All in all, the value was excellent for such an elegant looking product that is super easy to use & it looks fabulous. I especially love that I can install temporary access codes for people who might need to have access to my home for a day or two. I don't think I am able to articulate how amazing this product is, it has made my life so much more simple & easy. The fact that I love the brand is just icing on the cake. I have already recommended this product to my friends & family. :)Read full review

I love the way this deadbolt looks on my front door. It was not so easy for me to assemble because of the way the door hole was located a bit more to one side. If that was not an obstacle, I would have been able to install this is just a few minutes. The price was comparable, but I think these styles should be more affordable across the board. Good buy, good value and good craftsmanship.

I had used the 5-button version for locking some gates, and was annoyed at the small number of combinations it offered, and at the "smartkey" feature that lets one rekey it instantly. The SmartKey feature made it impossible to have a separate master key. I've keyed yard and garage to a separate key that can be given to neighbors for watering etc., but also made them work with the main house key. SmartKey can't do that. When one of the 5-button locks failed (became flakey, so it required frequent removal of the battery pack, a very tedious process in my setup), I was happy to discover this 10-digit model. It's much more versatile in allowing longer combinations and temporary combinations. So far it seems to work well. The 5-button models are more resistant to tampering by someone who gets inside, though, having really annoying screws holding the battery compartment closed. These 10-button locks are vulnerable to anyone who gets on the inside side.Read full review
