Attractive, shiny silvery tones of housing and broad, shifted to the lens cap to make the DiMAGE G500 exceptionally compact and convenient for everyday use camera. The best part is that the modest dimensions do not interfere with its versatility. We should also mention a powerful image processing system. Exposure, color saturation, contrast and sharpness can be controlled manually, and ergonomic design makes operation very simple. High-precision electro-optical camera system - CCD-matrix with a resolution of 2592x1944 pixels and a 3x aspherical zoom lens - allows you to print excellent quality photos up to A3. The camera has a very "fast" start (for the ready to shoot it requires only a few more seconds after switching on) and promptly respond to any of the photographer. It is universal with respect to storage media: a double slot for memory cards format SD / MMC and Memory Stick cards can use both types individually or together. But it was great back in 2004 y., now it's an old camera with mediocre abilities.Read full review
Replacing the same camera bought 20 years ago. Very familiar with features such as light weight and super lens. Just hope this replacement serves me as well. If the photo count hasn't be reset, it appears only half as many photos have been taken with it as my "old" one. I wouldn't be replacing it if I had stuffed my other camera into my pocket better. It dropped out and while still functional -- I have to tape the battery cover closed. Sigh.

Purchased this camera as a back-up for one that I've used for several years. It works perfectly and captures good close-up shots as well as wide angle views. Nothing complicated, simple to use and great pocket size. Love the simple battery that charges easily and holds the charge for long periods. Easy to transfer pics to the computer. Haven't even used half the feature yet.

I brought this camera for $75.00 to replace one of two of the same camera I have been using for years. I must say I am a bit disappointed over the deal. Before I bid I ask specify if he knew how many photo it has taken Quote” Q: is the outside as nice as the way it works? do you know how many photos it took? A: I used it for a few years sporadically. I estimate the range quantity of the numbers of photos taken is between 400-500. Exterior shows normal signs of wear, without dents/dings or major scratches.” Original box, software, accessories. Works perfectly! Upgraded to a new Nikon, don't need two cameras! Sounds like it is as good as new! When I opened the box the get started booklet and the wrist strap was missing, well OK so I checked the camera and photos 3456,3457 and 3458 are still in the camera, oops, Now I put a new memory card in and take my first photo Number 3530. So if the camera has never been turned back to zero we know there was at least 3529 photos taken not 500, this turns a excellent buy into an ok buy, I can say that because I also bought another camera the same and about the same condition for $35.00 on the internet. It is ok to say I don’t know or I never got the camera new, but I think I got miss lead on this deal. Ted CovenRead full review
I own two of these G500s and a G400. I carry them as backups in my camera bag and for when a full sized DSLR is too bulky or the weather is bad. These are small enough to slip in a shirt pocket and take exceptional pictures. Many times the color is more correct on these then on my big expensive cameras. I was impressed enough after getting the first one as a gift, that I bought more from ebay just to have around when needed. The view screen is small compared to modern point and shoots, but I prefer composing my shots through a view finder, which this has, unlike most modern small cameras. Like most small cameras, the flash is rather weak. Have taken thousands of pictures and they are all still working.
